Good field at Monday qualifying

Monday is a good day for spectators!

There's a very good field teeing it up at Kelly Plantation in "two-spot" qualifying. No ticket required. And no ropes!

Among those vying for just the two starting berths in the Boeing Championship at Sandestin are three-time PGA Tour winner Howard Twitty and Joe Inman, who has one PGA Tour victory and three Champions Tour wins to his credit.

Another three-time Champions Tour winner – and bigtime local favorite – is Sammy Rachels of DeFuniak Springs. He'll be teeing it up at 10:00 along with Inman and former Major League pitching All-Star Rick Rhoden.

Other local favorites include Freeport's Don Reese and Champions Tour conditional-exempt player Jim Chancey, a Panama City native.

The first group tees off at Kelly Plantation Monday morning at 8:00 with the last threesome slated at 11:40.

A great "freebie" day to watch a lot of good-playing aspirants striving to make the field at Sandestin!
